Welcome to Daemons of the Shadow Realm and the recap for the fourteenth episode, “Family and Friends.” In the previous episode, Ivan Yasano infiltrated Higashi Village and took both a young girl and the “fake Asa” hostage. He then killed Yama and wrote a message on his torso that instructed Yuru to meet with him. However, Hana has been told to keep that message a secret from Yuru. Meanwhile, Yuru’s old friend Danji has fled from Higashi and is making his way down the mountain. SPOILERS FOR Daemons of the Shadow Realm EPISODE 14 AHEAD Family Squabbles At Dera and Hana’s apartment, Hana wonders where everyone has gone. Dera tells her that Yuru, Ken, Right and Left have gone somewhere quiet to “practice” and that Kotetsu is with them, making them easy to track. Hana informs him that Yama was a pain to bury since he was so big but doesn’t tell him about the message Ivan left. In the fridge, Hana finds the hotpot ingredients she made and she asks Dera why they didn’t have that for dinner. Dera tells her that Yuru insisted that hotpot is to be eaten as a family. Obviously moved, Hana “talks to herself” and tells him about the writing left on Yama. Hana wonders if the person who wrote it has anything to do with the current whereabouts of Yuru’s parents but Dera doesn’t think so.
