Beerus is coming, get the food ready!
Anime story
This fall, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premieres on Crunchyroll and invites viewers to return to one of Goku’s most famous adventures (or perhaps experience it for the first time). There’s a pretty good chance you know who Goku is — buff guy, loud, likable, does the Kamehameha, likes to eat, you get the idea. But what is a… Beerus? Well, in case you were wondering just what the title of this anime has in store, I've written up a quick guide that explains what Goku’s latest opponent is all about! Who Is Beerus? Beerus, with a design that resembles a sphinx cat, is the God of Destruction and is millions of years old. He was trained by Whis, the angel-esque entity who serves as his attendant. Being called a “god” isn’t just a nickname either. Beerus is able to destroy entire planets with little effort. It’s his whole job, really. Beerus helps to maintain balance across the universe, and sometimes that means obliterating a planet or two. And he can’t stand when folks are rude to him. In fact, it’s said that he was the one who destroyed the dinosaurs because he thought they had a bad attitude. However, despite his massive strength, Beerus has a fairly lazy attitude. He loves to eat and will even test out a planet’s cuisine before he wipes it off the galactic map for the ridiculous offense of the food being a bit too greasy.
