An anime adaptation is officially on the way for Umihoshi Nanai’s Kizuguchi to Hotai ( Wound & Bandage ) manga. The official accounts and website went live along with the announcement, revealing the main staff, two flavors of teaser visuals (above) and plans for a January 2027 broadcast premiere. Miyuki Ishida ( I.CINNAMOROLL ) directs the Kizuguchi to Hotai anime, with Susumu Yamakawa ( The Way of the Househusband ) on scripts and Natsuki Oyama ( Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive? ) on character designs for the J.C. Staff production. Kizuguchi to Hotai first kicked off via Kodansha’s Comic Days app in August 2024, with four volumes on shelves and a fifth on the way in Japan this week. The story follows young yakuza member Go Kiritani as he is tasked with minding the leader’s daughter, Riyo Washizu.
