An official website and X account opened today to reveal that a TV anime adaptation of Mitsuki Mii's rom-com manga Kusunoki's Flunking Her High School Glow-Up is in production. Yuto Uemura (Haibara in Haibara's Teenage New Game+ ) voices Keisuke Shizuki and Tomori Kusunoki (Nemu in WITCH WATCH ) voices Shizuka Kusunoki in a teaser trailer you can check out below, along with an X-cellent teaser visual. A release date for the series was not confirmed at the time of reporting. Koji Haneda ( Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF ) draws the character designs and Kenichi Maeyamada ( Rent-a-Girlfriend ) composes the music, with Suzune Ishikawa serving as animation producer. Kodansha USA publishes Mitsuki Mii's original manga in English and describes the story: Keisuke Shizuki might have been an outcast in middle school, but not anymore. The trauma of being rejected by his first crush left Shizuki with a phobia of pretty girls and the drive to remake himself and start high school fresh: new looks, new friends, new confidence.
