A brand-new trailer was released today for the first part of the upcoming Made in Abyss film series, subtitled "Mezameru Shinpi" (translated as "Awakening Mystery"), before its theatrical release in Japan on October 23. The film's theme song will be "Chain of the Abyss," which is composed by Kevin Penkin and features vocals by Mori Calliope, and is featured in the trailer. Sumire Morohoshi was also revealed to voice Tepaste, with Takanori Hoshino voicing Cravagli. Made in Abyss: Mezameru Shinpi Anime Film Trailer Based on the Japanese fantasy manga Made in Abyss by Akihito Tsukushi, the TV anime adaptation aired its first season in 2017, followed by the second season in 2022. A two-part compilation film series was released in January 2019, with an all-new feature film titled Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul followed in January 2020. The upcoming new film series once again features Masayuki Kojima as director alongside returning writer Hideyuki Kurata and character designers Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda. Kinema Citrus continues to handle animation production, and the cast also returns from the TV anime. Seven Seas Entertainment, which has released an English edition of the manga, describes the story as such: In an age when the corners of the world have been scoured for their secrets, only one place remains unexplored–a massive cave system known as the Abyss.
