This year's MAPPA EXPO, celebrating the anime studio's 15th anniversary , will take place from September 16 to December 7 at Tokyo's Yurakucho Museum. To build hype for the upcoming event, MAPPA has released two new visuals from returning series: Ranma 1/2 , which returns October 3 , and Oblivion Battery , scheduled for a second season in 2027 . Check out the two new art pieces: one featuring Ranma and Akane reenacting the "broken sandal" rom-com trope, the other showing Haruka and Kei after hours on the playground. The new artwork will also be available on merchandise, to be revealed at a later date. Ranma 1/2 MAPPA Expo Illustration Oblivion Battery MAPPA Expo Illustration The original Oblivion Battery manga by Eko Mikawa began on Shonen Jump+ in April 2018, with 23 volumes released in Japan to date. An English-language version is available on Manga PLUS . Makoto Nakazono directed the first season of the  Oblivion Battery  TV anime at animation studio MAPPA, which aired from April to July 2024. Crunchyroll currently streams  Oblivion Battery , and describes the story: Star pitcher Haruka Kiyomine and skilled catcher Kei Kaname were an unstoppable duo—until Kei was hit with a curveball: amnesia. Now they have a second chance to play at a no-name high school with a team of past rivals.
