Disclosure: Three former Crunchyroll employees are among the founders of Omoi. Digital manga service Omoi revealed a new license during its Otakon 2026 panel today along with the addition of purchasable volumes from over 50 Kodansha manga series. The new license is none other than Shinji Wada’s iconic crime-action shojo manga Delinquent Detective: Sukeban Deka , which will be available as a digital exclusive on Omoi, marking its first official English release. Delinquent Detective: Sukeban Deka ran in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine from 1975 to 1982, and will be available in English for those with an Omoi Premium digital subscription starting this fall. You can see three of the original Japanese volume covers above. Synopsis: The legendary shojo crime thriller Sukeban Deka will be available in English for the very first time, coming this fall exclusively to Omoi! Saki Asamiya is a fearsome high school delinquent imprisoned in an inescapable juvenile detention center. Her chance at freedom comes when she accepts a deal from the police: infiltrate Japan's elite schools to investigate crimes the cops can't touch, and her mother will be spared from execution. Undercover as a regular student, Saki sets off to unmask criminal conspiracies, wielding a custom steel yo-yo as she faces off against corrupt teachers and scheming students.
