Weapons and Barbarian director Zach Cregger gets a crack at Resident Evil when his next film premieres on September 18. This one follows an everyman medical courier named Bryan who ends up on a run to Raccoon City that quickly turns disastrous, and you can see how it all begins in the brand-new trailer below. Resident Evil Trailer Zach Cregger directs Resident Evil and also writes alongside fellow scribe Shay Hatten. The cast includes Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser. The film, which was also shot for IMAX screens, opens in theaters in North America on September 18. Capcom’s Resident Evil series of survival horror games kicked off with the original on PlayStation back in 1996. The latest entry, Resident Evil Requiem , launched in February 2026.
