The official website for the Space Battleship Yamato remake anime series released a special collaboration visual between Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 and MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN . The visual was newly illsutrated by Kia Asamiya, who is in charge of image drawings for the series. This collaboration was made possible because the currently screening "Chapter 6: Aoi Meikyu ( The Azure Labyrinth )" features a scene in which Space Battleship Yamato appears in the skies of 2026 Tokyo and flies over the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba, Tokyo (see the header image). Additionally, Harutoshi Fukui, the general director of Yamato 3199 , authored the MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN novels and served as the series composition writer for its anime adaptation. Additionally, the first three and a half minutes of Chapter 6 is now streaming on Bandai Namco Filmworks' official YouTube channel . The seven-chapter (26-episode) series Yamato 3199 is based on the 1980 feature film Be Forever Yamato ( Yamato yo Towa ni in Japan) and also includes some elements from the third original TV series, Space Battleship Yamato III (1980-1981). The 3199 series has released theatrically in Japan since July 2024.
