The staff of Studio TRIGGER announced during the studio's Anime Expo 2026 panel that the next project from Hiroyuki Imaishi and Kazuki Nakashima is officially in production. This will be the fourth collaborative work between the two creators, after Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill and Promare . Further details about the project, such as a release date, format or other staff, was not announced at the time of reporting. Imaishi directed Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann , animated at Gainax, with Nakashima on series composition, which premiered in 2007. Two compilation films, GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE -Childhood's End- and GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE -The Lights in the Sky are Stars-, were released in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Kill la Kill, the first TV anime from Studio TRIGGER directed by Imaishi with Nakashima on series composition, premiered in 2013 for a 24-episode run.
