A new theatrical anime film for Sword Art Online entitled Sword Art Online the Movie - Integral Domain - was announced today with a release scheduled for 2028. The new film features an original story concept created by series creator Reki Kawahara that takes place after the “Alicization” arc. Shingo Adachi directs the new film at animation studios A-1 Pictures and Psyde Kick Studio, and Yumiko Yamamoto provides the character designs. Voice actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu reprise their roles as Kirito and Asuna , respectively.
