The Crunchyroll Showcase panel today revealed the first teaser trailer and visual for the upcoming The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All anime, revealing the initial staff and cast in the series, as well as a January 2027 premiere. Crunchyroll will stream the series when it premieres next year. Masashi Ishihama will direct the series at CloverWorks, with Rino Yamasaki on series composition, Kanna Hirayama on character designs. Mariya Ise will voice Mitsuki Koga, alongside Akari Kito who will voice Aya Osawa. “Breed” by Nirvana will also serve as the opening theme song for the series. First posted on X (formerly Twitter) in 2022, the The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All manga by Sumiko Arai is serialized online on Pixiv Comic and in print by Kadokawa Shoten since April 2023, with four volumes released to date in Japan. A drama CD adaptation was released in April 2024, starring Akari Kito as Aya and Mariya Ise as Mitsuki.
